Marion County Soil & water conservation district
The Marion County Soil and Water Conservation District provides soil health and conservation resources, technical assistance, educational opportunities, and networking for farmers and gardeners. Conservation in agriculture improves soil health, plant health, nutrient efficiency, and the soil’s ability to infiltrate, store, and clean water.
Indy hunger network
Indy Hunger Network is a coalition of nonprofits, corporations, and government agencies working together to reduce hunger in the greater Indianapolis area. Our mission is to address systemic hunger issues and eliminate disparities in the Great Indianapolis hunger relief system.
Equitable Food Access initiative
In 2021, LISC Indianapolis, with the support of Anthem Foundation, and the City of Indianapolis launched the Equitable Food Access Initiative (EFAI). Through this partnership, LISC has driven collaboration between place-based and citywide stakeholders to increase healthy food access by addressing the upstream contributors to food insecurity. Eight communities self-selected engagement with the EFAI by responding to LISC’s EFAI RFP.
Indiana Composting Council
Established to promote environmental stewardship, INCC is dedicated to advancing composting practices throughout Indiana. We believe in the power of sustainability and aim to foster a culture of environmental responsibility.
Indianapolis Community Food Access Coalition (CFAC)
The Indianapolis Community Food Access Coalition (CFAC) is community-driven, independent, and serves the purpose of driving action toward a more equitable Indianapolis food system.
Division of Community Nutrition and Food Policy
The Office of Public Health and Safety’s (OPHS) Division of Community Nutrition and Food Policy is responsible for addressing racial inequity in the food system, creating an inclusive mechanism to launch and coordinate food policies and programs, reducing food insecurity in Indianapolis, and improving equitable access to healthy food in Indianapolis, with a focus on supporting the local food economy and food infrastructure of low access areas.
