
JAYDEN BUCKLEY
Jayden Buckley is a second-grader at Cold Spring School in IPS. She loves being a student at Cold Spring because it is an Environmental Magnet school with multiple acres of woods and an outdoor classroom where she enjoys learning and exploring. She likes to encourage others to care about climate change. She wants to impact the environment by keeping open spaces green and making more spaces green in the city. She is also vocal about equity and has attended several local peaceful protests to support equal rights. In her free time, she likes to help her mom with the garden, play in her backyard, be outside, read, and run track.

POPPY DEE KENDALL
Poppy Dee Kendall is in the third grade and loves her hometown of Goshen, IN. She is passionate about gardening, art, music, faires, dragons, family, the environment, and being a vegetarian. Poppy Dee loves spending time in the outdoors playing with her friends, climbing trees and enjoying the beauty of the nature. On a sunny day, she can be found in her backyard watching her dog, Toby, chasing squirrels. While sheltering-in-place during the pandemic, Poppy Dee wanted to launch her own youtube series called "Every Day Is Earth Day." You can follow her adventures on instagram @poppydeekendall

BHAVYA THAKKAR
Bhavya Thakkar is a fourth grader at Promise Road Elementary School in Noblesville, IN. She is the National American Miss Indiana Jr. PreTeen, committed to making sure our earth stays clean and green by creating awareness amongst youth with her message of “ReThink to BeGreen”. She is an avid reader and enjoys reading novels like the Harry Potter series. She hopes to represent Team USA in Synchronized swimming someday in the Olympics!

TEAGAN MASSIE
Teagan Massie is 8 years old and lives on a small vegetable farm in Crown Point. She loves to go hiking in the woods in her backyard whenever she gets the chance. In 2020 when she was in 2nd grade, Teagan went to the Indiana State House for Youth Climate Action Day and returned a month later to meet one-on-one with Representatives Carey Hamilton and Lisa Beck. Just a few weeks later, Teagan was then invited to discuss her concerns about climate change with U.S. Congressman Frank Mrvan. In September 2020, the Northwest Indiana Region Resilience asked Teagan to provide public comment during a meeting of over 60 mayors, city leaders and council people where her voice helped to pass a resolution for all NWI municipalities to inventory carbon emissions. Teagan loves science, and agrees with scientists that we must draw down carbon and change our habits to save the lives of plants, humans and our animal friends.

Frankie Fiehrer-Laird
Frankie is 10 years old and lives on Laird Farms in Rensselaer, IN. She is in the fifth grade and is passionate about swimming, hiking in her woods, gymnastics, circus arts, skiing and snowboarding. Frankie has been homeschooled since 2020 and enjoys creative writing the most. In the past year she has been working hard to develop her artistic skills. She is interested in Greek mythology and ancient mythology in general. She is determined for women to have equal rights.
During the pandemic she has been socializing virtually, and especially enjoyed making collaborative quip art on a jamboard with her new found friend from New Nork. Frankie loves watching Hayao Miyazaki films with her two sisters. She loves the Harry Potter books and enjoys listening to Broadway music. Her favorite Broadway productions are Hamilton and Wicked. She loves being outside and can’t imagine a world without green around us.

Lucy Ansell
Lucy is 12 years old and a 6th grader at School for Community learning. She is a birder, vegetation, photographer, and has a passion for piano and acting. Lucy also enjoys math, reading, and robotics. Along with being a Climate Change activist, Lucy also fights against social justice issues, and recognizes that environmental justice is social justice. Lucy wants to become an ornithologist or an actress when she grows up, and hopes to travel the world one day.
