Watershed Initiative 2009wstechs

Location:

604 E. College Avenue North Manchester, IN 46962

A collaborative, community-wide effort to protect and enhance the water resources of Middle Eel River Watershed through education and implementation of soil and water conservation practices. Our project consists of four major components: Write a Watershed Management Plan – Providing a framework for our energy and resources. The Watershed management plan is still being written. Administer an intensive water monitoring program – Based on sound science, identify water quality

issues and concerns in the watershed. We have finished our first year of monitoring and you can access the results by clicking here. Develop and Implement a cost-share program – Provide financial assistance to landowners for the implementation of best management practices in critical areas. Education and Outreach – Sponsor events for recreation and education.
