Peace is never quiet

Pope Francis is no platitudinarian, so when I came across his 10 tips for bringing more joy into one’s life, I attended to them eagerly. He concludes the list by urging readers to work for peace. “We are living in a time of many wars,” he said, and “calls for peace must be shouted. Peace sometimes gives the impression of being quiet, but it is never quiet. Peace is always proactive and dynamic.”

The Earth Charter reminds us that peace is the “wholeness created by right relationships with oneself, other persons, other cultures, other life, Earth, and the larger whole of which we are all a part.”

May your holiday season teem with the cultivation of right relationships.

Peace,

Ali
